Hello and welcome to the 'new and improved' HIA wiki community knowledge site.
Thank you for your patience while this wiki is in development. The best way to use it currently is to use the SEARCH BOX on the TOP RIGHT and the FOLDERS in the NAVIGATOR WINDOW on the RIGHT.
There are currently over 1,400 HIA related documents in folders on the site. Thumbnails of these are being produced and they are being placed on wiki pages under the key headings in the menu bar above. This is likely to take at least the next year to fully complete.
Welcome! This wiki is about health impact assessment (HIA). HIA is the systematic prediction, prioritisation and management of the likely positive and negative health and wellbeing impacts of new plans and projects.
This wiki is for anyone interested in population and neighbourhood health and wellbeing; healthy urban planning and development; and the practice and quality assurance of HIA. It is particularly useful for residents concerned about a proposed plan or development; HIA practitioners; public and environmental health professionals; designers, planners, developers and consultants; and policy and decision-makers.
The aim of this wiki website is to enable you to:
i) Easily access key guides, tool, reports and other resources on HIA in a convenient, relevant and informative way.
ii) Discuss health, wellbeing and health impact assessment in an informal and insightful way.
iii) Contribute and be a member of this wiki by registering yourself and adding new documents and new links, repairing broken links and creating new themes and pages. The beauty of wiki is that anyone and everyone can get involved in updating and adding to the knowledge and information on this site.
Wikis are websites that anyone can help to change, improve and update (without having any programming skills). So browse the site, search the resources, register yourself and help to build a living, dynamic, collaborative and community owned resource that enhances and develops HIA theory and practice internationally.
